Every day, I feel increasingly isolated. Today, I find myself condemned to strive and struggle in this world. The world is a harsh and frightening place; where I live, it is even more terrifying. Being human here is incredibly challenging. While being a man is difficult, being a woman is exponentially harder.
In the journey of life, choosing the path of least resistance may seem the safest. Yet, I believe the only solution is to turn our heads and give a brief, sharp jolt to the reality we face today.
Fragments left behind by Amineh, my wife, who, due to the oppressive political and governmental systems of our country, is separated from me by thousands of kilometers, have become my companions. Makeup, fabric scraps, kitchen utensils, and more have come to my aid, transforming into expressions on canvas and frames. They have merged and depicted our lives and perspectives.
The color red, and its presence in my works, symbolizes Amineh and the few but mighty warriors of the world. It reflects our battle against the tyranny of our times and rulers.
