About Me

 

I’m Mohammad Kamal Alavi, a dedicated filmmaker born on October 20, 1983. With a passion for storytelling that began early in life, I have carved a niche for myself in the world of cinema through relentless pursuit and creative endeavors. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Acting from the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at Tehran Central, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Film Directing from the Young Cinema Society. These academic achievements have equipped me with a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of filmmaking.

I am a proud member of ISFA (Iranian Short Film Association) and the Iranian Theatre Actors Association. These memberships allow me to stay connected with the vibrant film and theatre communities, constantly inspiring me to push the boundaries of my craft.

My journey as a director has been marked by the creation of several independent short films. Some of my notable works include:

  • Nim, Dobareh Sokoot (Silence Again), Panchargiri (Flat Tire), Tak Shakh (Unicorn), Mahi Badkonaki (Puffer Fish), Bobo Donyaye Yek Barreh (Bobo, The World of a Lamb), Sobh Az Shab Shoru Mishavad (Morning Begins at Night)

These films explore a variety of themes and narratives, each reflecting my unique vision and dedication to the art of filmmaking.

Beyond directing, I have worn multiple hats in the film industry, including those of an actor, planner, assistant director, and production manager. My versatility has allowed me to gain comprehensive insights into the filmmaking process, enhancing my ability to tell compelling stories on screen.

My work has been recognized and showcased at numerous prestigious film festivals around the globe. I have had the privilege of participating in:
